Fritz Hansen Drop

An innovative use of plastic moulding, this tear-shaped chair is formed from a pod-like shell that preceded popular space age design of the 1960s. This futuristic feel is accentuated further by thin chromed steel tubular legs that dart out at an angle to mirror the lines of its gently spiked backrest.Novel in its invention, the Drop Chair is by no means a period piece. The sleek silhouette has an organic quality that sits effortlessly in the most modern of interiors with an inviting seat and tapering backrest that allows for freedom of movement while fitting to the contours of the body. From serene pastels to bold primaries, the selection of contemporary colours makes this highly original design the model chair for up-to-date interiors, especially when paired with an industrial inspired desk or grouped around a mid-century dining table.
